proposal:
this proposal for a new logo for the frankfurter kunstverein is developed from forms that are not primary expressions of an individual script. instead, their design is structured out of many chance groupings. coincidences and errors are moments of creative processes that are also related to terms such as chaos and order.
the basis of the design is photographic footage on a membrane moveable steel ball. the oscillation of the membrane is created through ground noise and keeps the balls moving. the photographic footage allows optical deformations and chance patterns to form as a result of the camera shake. regions are chosen from these chance patterns, copies are enlarged and clear contour drawing are prepared. these clear point constellations form the new basic identity of the logo.
the patterns are punched out, similar to paper tape, in the print media department of the kunstverein. dimension and conciseness should always be determined on the concrete object. from the many proposals, five logos will be selected, which will be used alternatively. from this proposal, an independent work will be developed.
