description:
this research installation tries to explore the different noiseforms as source for random processes, noise is a random signal, real random is not expressible in any kind of algorithm, this set up documents all sounds of an exhibition space over a long time, by using a tapeloop and an analog tape recorder with no erasehead this installation will produce a specific noisetape for the space. noise plays a crucial role in communication systems. in theory, it determines the theoretical capacity of the channel. in practice it determines the number of errors occurring in a digital communication. we shall consider how the noise determines the error rates in the next subsection. in this subsection we shall provide a description of noise.
